End of a great birthday week || LOTD

Inglot Lipstick in 124

Unless you follow my twitter, you may or may not know it was my 18th birthday on the 20th.

I've had a non-stop celebration from the 20th to the 23rd celebrating with different people each day which was a blast. Cannot thank my family and friends enough for the amazing time.

Anywho, I'de like to display one of the gifts my friend gave me which I finally got to use yesterday, it was a tiring day so I didn't get to post up the lotd yesterday but thank you so much Tarini!

This is my first Inglot product i've ever used, so its quite exciting getting out of the usual products and trying out a different brand!

Thinking of Ingot I just know them for the eyeshadow palettes that you pretty much build yourself. Otherwise, I haven't came across anyone talking about the Ingot lipsticks (they may have but Im just too oblivious to realise).
The picture here doesn't do its pink justice enough!

Opening up the lipstick, I got quite a surprise with the shade. It is not like any of my coral lipsticks I own. It has that neutrally/blue-tone pink in natural lighting but has a pink coral shade in other lighting!

It comes out with a good balance of creaminess and doesn't drag on the lips. There is slight shimmer in it but isn't enough that it looks like you dipped your lips in glitter.

The lipstick also smells a lot like bubblegum!!

Upon receiving this lipstick, my friend said she saw this shade in the store and thought it would look amazing with my skin tone and I have no idea how she has the eye for that but she was right and picked the perfect coral for me and I mean perfect!

I found with coral lipsticks that they were always too bright for me and this one has a good orange to pink ratio and it also isn't a super bright shade.

I did wear this one out to dinner at Om Nom eating both their dinner and dessert range so I did have some oily food (seared duck breast *drools*). The lipstick did last when I was snacking before going out aka water, chocolate and some jelly my friend made me, and the lipstick did not budge off but with dinner it did start wearing out in the centre of my lips. So if you plan on not reapplying you will end up with that unsightly lipliner look at the end of the day.

I assume a day with light snacking with friends, it won't need reapplying.

This has got to be one of my favourite coral lipstick shades I own.

Shanghai Suzy Miss Kitty || LOTD

Probably one of the most underrated lipstick brands out their would be Shanghai Suzy, it just does not get enough attention in the beauty community!!
Although the lasting power is pretty standard for me the colours of each seasonal shade makes me drool over them.
I bought the Miss Kitty hoping to get into berry lipstick colours during the winter time but I never got around to using it as the shade didnt make me want to bother with making sure my lips were fully smooth and also how much of a change from using brighter lipstick colours would be.
Hiding in my lipstick drawer, I though why not just use it again even though it may not be "summer appropriate"

Recently it has been my go-to shade just for a pop-in to the shops, doing my late Christmas shopping and grocery runs I've somehow been confortable in wearing it out which I am proud to say.
I actually have it on my lips right now and the colour is just too gorgeous for me to not use it.
I am quite the lazy person so I dont really bother with a lip liner to outline the lips or to use a lipbrush for a better application so I do apply straight from the bullet and it is somewhat of a hit an miss in terms of getting a dark lip shade looking perfect. Yesterdays application took quite awhile as the edges I had to keep redoing but today I got it looking decent with no fuss. But that's what you get with darker lip shades but in the end it's worth it.

After this swatch, I accidentally smudged it on my white doona and will not come off guys :(

Being a matte dark berry-pink lippy, I do need to exfoliate my lips before applying it as it will cling onto dry spots and wont look as smooth.
The lipstick goes on somewhat smoothly and does not dry the lipsticks which is the best part!
I find from eating+drinking it will leave the dreaded lipliner look from the lipstick fading on the inside so I only ever use this lipstick when Im going out to the shops by myself, it will be a high maintenance lipstick if you are out eating as reapplication will be needed.
Other than that, it doesnt bleed or smudge (as long as you dont touch the lips) and did me well with a good 1-2 hour shop in the heat.

Disclaimer: I purchased this lipstick with my own money!

Rimmel Kate Lasting Finish 05 || LOTD

Put your hands up if youre downing in sweat!
Stuck indoors, upstairs with no fan is a bit of a challenge but Im glad the suns out, bringing back the bright coloured lipsticks even though you could probably rock any coloured lipstick in whatever season and weather there is. But I like to take it as an excuse to try out different coloured lipsticks rather than sticking to the one favourite colour.

As one who cant resist a sale, I got this lipstick for only $6.65 for sale at ASOS thinking that I would be receiving a pink berry shade, but of course silly me forgetting that the colour is always different to the picture.
05 is like your typical pink lipstick but loads more wearable for everyday. It has little hints of glitter that makes the lipstick look a tad frosty on the lips but isnt noticable unless you shine light onto it.
Like always I do dab this one on yet it is quite pigmented even when you try and blot it.
If your lips are dry it does cling onto dry areas but doesnt accentuate them, though it is a bit drying but nothing that a good lipbalm can fix after!

I had plans on going to the library today so I did pop on this lipstick, I mean why not?!
Though before I did go eat breakfast and this doesn't last long if you have a light meal or even a muesli bar on the go, the centre of the lips will start to wear out,  so you do have to reapply this bad boy. But considering that its me, I dont reapply lipstick and with eating + drinking and 3 hours of studying in the library, it was completely gone in 4 hours.

Mac Lovelorn || LOTD

I've been trying to get into lipsticks more as it is one of those products I hoard so Im trying my best to use them up. For my birthday my brother got me a MAC lipstick (with the help of his girlfriend ofc) and I was surprised that they picked a colour that I would use as an everyday lippie.

I do have a slight obsession with MAC lipsticks as the packaging wins me over, its famous slate grey and silver packing in the shape of a bullet  and its range of colours you can choose from. I now have 3 MAC lipsticks which Im hoping to extend someday soon.
Lovelorn is a lustre finish which is demi-sheer finish. I have a thing for applying my lipsticks on quite sheer, because I just love the natural look, Im also too much of a wuss to put on a lipstick at its full colour since I get paranoid when the lipstick starts to fade in the middle which always happens to me.

Swatched on the hands, you will automatically thing that this is a sheer baby pink lipstick but on the lips it is just one of those MLBB (my lips but better) lipsticks, but with a hint of pink.
I've been using this as my go-to lipstick, when im going out, work and sometimes school.
I find that it starts to fade around the 3 hour mark but you cant notice it as it until you decide to reapply the lipstick and the colour comes back to life.
I find that if my lips arent exfoliated well, the colour will stick onto the dry patches but it wont be noticable compared to matte lipsticks. This lipstick sadly is a tad drying for me but a good lipbalm makes everything better.

Whats your go-to MLBB lippie?!
