The Purple Phase || Rimmel ScandalEyes Pencil Liner

For the longest time, I've always wanted to try out purple liner. Black was always my go-to colour, brown was average to me and other colours really didnt stand out. Well finally I purchased the Rimmel ScandalEyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal on Asos while it was on sale but you can pick this up at Priceline or Mychemist when the 50% Rimmel products are on.
I've been wearing this colour non-stop after receiving it in the mail and I am in love!

I was hesitant in purchasing the one from Rimmel as pencil eyeliners do not last on me but I know for a fact that the darker the pencil liner, the more it will be noticable when smudged and with colours like purple, it may smudge on you but it wont give you a panda eye look compared with the black. So I bit the bullet and got the purple just knowing that this wont be the HG pencil liner that lasts all day, which of course isnt, but rather what got me loving this liner was the colour!

You could say that this is somewhat comparable to Urban Decays 24/7 Pencil Liner but I would say it's less creamier. I mean it is definitely creamy and pigmented, but I found it harder to apply when I applied eye primer underneath as it did start to tug on my lids after.
The nib of the pencil does wear out fast so I did have to sharpen it after 2 days of use and since I do wing out my liner, pencil is pretty much the worst when it comes to getting a fine line, so with the use of a q-tip I pull the liner out and smudge the edges and it looks fine...from afar. But that is one of the downsides for using any pencil liners.

What I love about using purple liner is that you can get away with lining your eyes, applying some mascara and you're good to go for the day. It doesn't have the intensity that a black eyeliner would have but it does have the ability to show your natural eye shape instead of changing it.
I have used this eyeliner, at work, school and for whenever I've been out and the lasting ability has been tested.
Without primer, work for 3.3 hours: Slight smudging, eyeliner separating from the ends as a result of watery eyes (pictured at the bottom right)
With primer, at school for 4 hours, out for 1 hour: slightly noticable smudge near lower lashline, majority of the purple liner has faded/smudged away from the lashline also separation of product at the ends of my eye also from a result of watery eyes.
So the results is typical for me but Im just glad it doesnt give me raccoon eyes at the end of the day.
I would label this pencil liner a favourite of mine due to the colour and texture but when it comes down to the lasting power, the smudging and fading on the lower lashline is frustrating.
But anywho I have been getting many compliments on this liner at school and does go to show purple liner is super pretty, so do try getting your hands on a purple liner if you dont already!!

Rimmel Kate Lasting Finish 05 || LOTD

Put your hands up if youre downing in sweat!
Stuck indoors, upstairs with no fan is a bit of a challenge but Im glad the suns out, bringing back the bright coloured lipsticks even though you could probably rock any coloured lipstick in whatever season and weather there is. But I like to take it as an excuse to try out different coloured lipsticks rather than sticking to the one favourite colour.

As one who cant resist a sale, I got this lipstick for only $6.65 for sale at ASOS thinking that I would be receiving a pink berry shade, but of course silly me forgetting that the colour is always different to the picture.
05 is like your typical pink lipstick but loads more wearable for everyday. It has little hints of glitter that makes the lipstick look a tad frosty on the lips but isnt noticable unless you shine light onto it.
Like always I do dab this one on yet it is quite pigmented even when you try and blot it.
If your lips are dry it does cling onto dry areas but doesnt accentuate them, though it is a bit drying but nothing that a good lipbalm can fix after!

I had plans on going to the library today so I did pop on this lipstick, I mean why not?!
Though before I did go eat breakfast and this doesn't last long if you have a light meal or even a muesli bar on the go, the centre of the lips will start to wear out,  so you do have to reapply this bad boy. But considering that its me, I dont reapply lipstick and with eating + drinking and 3 hours of studying in the library, it was completely gone in 4 hours.

Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in 005 Silky Beige

Having an oily-combination skin type, it has always been a must to use powder after foundations, bb creams or tinted moisturisers just so it can last longer.
After hearing this product explode through the beauty community it had been in my key interest to try it out.

I bought this at Priceline during one of their 20% off Rimmel sales a few months back for $10.36. (they have the same sale on now aswell!)

The back
It comes in 4 shades, Silky Beige, Transparent, Peach Glow and Cashmere.
I got the shade in 005 Silky Beige, though the shades don't really matter to me since I can't really notice a difference with it on.

Firstly about the packaging, it has a clear lid that you have to twist on and off. I find that when I try to twist it back on it doesn't have a secure stop to it so it will continue twisting even if you use a light hand, I came to the point where I didn't have to twist it any more, I just pulled the lid off.
Also the packaging looked and felt really cheap and flimsy.

As for the product, I did notice that it had very small glitter particles but it wasn't noticeable once I applied it on.
The texture was really smooth, wasn't powdery nor chalky and blended like a dream on the skin.
I use my EcoTools Powder Brush to apply on my T-zone.
Sadly I found that it hung onto the dry areas of my face (around my nose, forehead and some patches on my cheek), which was a let-down but it did mattify my face for a good 3-4 hours!
But during the more hotter days and the times where I had sport during school it didn't last as long as the cooler days. Probably around 2 hours.
Although I can't judge whether it's a good powder or not since it is the second powder I've used. I can easily tell it will be a powder that I'll be using for in the future. I don't like to reapply my make-up through out the day so lasting 3-4 hours is good enough for me!

Rimmel London The Max Bold Curves Mascara - Black

Got this mascara in a part of the Rimmel Xmas 2011 Pack (post here).
Rimmel Mascaras honestly never caught my eye (besides the bright colours), I was always interested in the Maybelline mascaras so I was happy to get it in the gift pack.
I needed to try out some new mascaras, which is pretty hard for me to find the perfect mascara. I like to look for non clumpy, flake free, holds a curl, lasts all day and easy to take off mascaras. (I have high expectations in my mascaras).

Back of the tube
Got the colour in 001 Black

Claims to give 'Big, bold lashes in a flash, Exponential Volume and Lift Mascara.

The wand

The wand really shocked me when I pulled it out of the tube, it was pretty big. The curved shape was supposed to 'curl' and lift your lashes, which never works in my books since I have stick straight lashes, but the curved shape was big enough to cup majority of my lashes in one sweep.
The formula was quite drying and clumpy on the bristles which you would have to wipe off the excess.
I am no mascara expert but the brush itself seemed like one of those cliché curling/volumising brush.

Bare lashes, curled lashes, one coat of mascara...droop
Sad to say I didn't test the lasting power since I gave this mascara away to my friend due to the fact that it didn't hold a curl. After a few minutes it started to droop. Though I did like how it made my lashes look, it wasn't that clump, lengthened a tiny bit and volumised a tiny bit, looked very natural and it didn't flake!
I would'nt repurchase this but for those who would like to try this mascara out you can get this at Priceline for $15.50 or any store that stocks up on Rimmel products! :)

Rimmel London Eyebrow Pencil - Dark Brown

I don't know about you but doing my eyebrows would be the first thing I do after my face routine. Eyebrows are the first thing I care for seeing as though I accidentally messed them up in the past.
If you didn't know, awhile ago I had a little spree and decided to spend my money on the Rimmel London Eyebrow Pencil, I had been using my Daiso Eyebrow Pencil which was just...crap. I thought why not spend more money on a brand I trust more?
I got it at Priceline on sale for $6.80, it usually retails for $8.50.

There were only 3 colours available, Hazel, Dark Brown and Black Brown.
I got the colour in 001 Dark Brown since my hair colour is a brown colour (naturally black hair).
Not that happy that they didn't sell a wide range of colours.
You would probably have to buy the Black Brown if you have darker hair.

On the lid of the pencil, it had a brow brush which did come in handy to blend out the harsh lines made by the pencil while also grooming my brows.

Plain old eyebrow pencil
Now what I don't like is that the pencil itself wasn't sealed up with plastic. Its lid was free of anyone just opening it and testing it out.
I forgot to check if mine was tested or not so when I got home I saw that the pencil was blunt, flat looked used but luckily it wasn't fully noticeable (blunt to the very tip) so it wouldn't do any harm to just sharpen it again!

Swatches:

With Flash

I know I didn't go to the very edge of my eyebrows, I usually like to fill them in naturally and also put eyebrow powder over it. I only use pencil to line the edges since I have some spaces which powder won't do the job.
For the lasting power it did start to fade. I have school for 6 hours and I have very oily skin, I don't like to touch up my make-up during my breaks so it's important for me to find products that last. Sad to say this pencil didn't reach to my standards. Though I am still finding my holy grail eyebrow pencil.

Have you guys used this product? What's your favourite eyebrow pencil? :)

Rimmel Soft Kohl Eyeliner Pencil - Jet Black

After hearing so many raves on this and seeing so many beauty gurus using this on their waterline, I was always wanting to buy this, since I am still looking for my HG black pencil eyeliner for the waterline.

I actually got this eyeliner from the Rimmel Xmas 2011 Pack which should be discontinued by now but you can also get this eyeliner at places that sell Rimmel stuff, which will cost around $8 unless it's on sale.

Got the colour in 061 Jet Black, luckily it was the one I wanted!

The tip will be much sharper when you first get it, I just used it.
On the Rimmel website it claimed that the eyeliner was:
Soft, smudgeable colour with an improved staying power.
Soft: Yes
Smudgable: Yes
Staying Power: No
I'll explain the staying power later on.

Comparison of Milani and Rimmel
As you can see, Milani is still the most pigmented black eyeliner I own but if you keep building up the colour for the Rimmel eyeliner it does become a deep black.

The staying power after 3 hours.
Okay I did cheat a bit, I put on the eyeliner at home and left it on to see how long it would last for and it only lasted for 3 hours before the eyeliner started to melt in the inner parts due to my watery eyes.
I also did use the eyeliner on the top lashline (not in the picture) to use at school since I had no liquid eyeliner to use and it gave me panda eyes at the end of the day sadly. (I have extremely oily eyelids so there's no surprise there)

I wouldn't repurchase this but it might work for the less oily eyelidders!
and I am still in the faze of trying out all black pencil eyeliners out there so more eyeliner reviews to come!

Rimmel London Glam'Eyes Professional Liquid Liner - Black Glamour

Popped into Priceline during the weekend just to go buy some new makeup products!
I saw in the Rimmel London area, some products were on sale and lucky for me that I needed a new liquid eyeliner to try out after my Dollywink Liquid Liner sadly ran out. I had to choose between 2 liquid eyeliners, one was just $2-$3 extra and was actually smaller so I just bought this one.

Bought the one in Black Glamour. Just the usual black liquid eyeliner.

Price: $9.56

Most liquid eyeliners were actually around the $10 price range so I just made up my mind to buy and try!
It contained 3.5ml which isnt too bad. I think the Dollywink has more product though. So the Dollywink would be more worth it!

Packaging: 4/5

When I bought this and went home I didnt realise that it was already opened by someone else. The part where the lid and where the product is stored would usually be taped together but mine was broken so that people could open it. I was too lazy to refund it so I just left it. So if anyone is going to buy this make sure it is securely taped before buying! Now onto the applicator..
The brush tip is actually pretty thin but can also make thick lines. What I like about this is that it is a brush applicator and it is really easy to use (in my opinion). If you didnt know, my eyes are actually uneven, one has 2 creases on my eyelid so I have to make my eyeliner thicker than the other and this eyeliner is easy to do so. I can easily make a thin line on one eye and a  thicker line on the other.

Pros:

-Dries matte
-Lasts a long time without smudging, fading or flaking if untouched throughout the day!
-Really easy to remove

Cons:

-Takes a while to dry if you put too much product
-It's not waterproof, I repeat! It will smudge if water gets onto it.
-Can be hard to use the applicator if you arnt used to it

Lasts a long time even after my eyelid starts to get oily, it's amazing!
I really do recommend this to anyone who's looking for a liquid liner for an everyday use! I replaced this with my Dollywink and I'm in love with it at the moment, though Dollywink is still my all time favourite liquid liner!

Nails of the Week!

It's more of a deep peach colour.

Bought this at MyChemist because it was on sale and I was looking for a peachy/coraly colour!

The colour isnt exactly 100% the same as the picture, on my nails it looks like a bright pink/orange kind of like a neon. Maybe because it crashes with my olive skin. But 3 coats of it is enough to make it opaque.
