Blackout || Revlon Colourstay Skinny Liquid Liner

After 4 years of being an eyeliner junkie, I'm still on the quest of finding my "holy grail" perfect eyeliner, the one that can resist my super oily lids and super watery eyes.
All the ones I've tried have either gave me the ring of death (raccoon eyes), separated on the ends (due to watery eyes) or flaked into my eye or under my eye.
I bought the Revlon Skinny Liquid Liner at Mychemist during one of the 50% sales in hope that this could potentially be a decent one for daily use or even one of my favourite eyeliners, I did give this high expectations as I see Revlon as a pretty good brand but sadly this eyeliner was just not the one for me.

The Revlon Skinny Liquid Liner is what I assume to be one of their typical liner formulas but with a skinnier brush, I may be wrong with the formula being the same but the felt tip brush is definitely skinny. Im going to go straight to the point and just say Im not a big fan of felt tip liners, as much as they are easy to use I hate the precision it gives. I find with felt tip applicators, they start of in a nice shape and gradually becomes horrid, the tip is never in perfect condition which bothers me greatly as I do love a good wing but aside from that problem it is a skinny long brush which is one of the pluses as I can line the inner of my eyes quick but drawing in the wing is a big problem with this one so I do have to use my k-palette liquid liner to pre-draw my wing.

The pigmentation I would say is fairly average, it isnt the blackest eyeliner out there but it isnt surprising as this is a matte finish and I find that glossy liners have the best pigmentation.
You can get away with a layer of this on the lids but you can definitely put on a second layer no harm done.

L-R: Thinnest application || Thickest application || 2 layers done
The main issue I had with this liner was that my lids started to burn a tad when I applied it to the inner parts of my lid, it wasnt a painful burn but it was noticable, I am still using it and the burn is still there until the liner dries but my lids have not changed though I should probably stop using this liner incase.
Other than that, the liner was typically like the ones I used before, it flaked, smudged a bit and separated on the wings at the end of the day. With a primer it does do all that but less so I find that I dont really bother with primer.
With experimenting I made my eyeliner different to how I do it (pictured below), just to avoid the eyeliner separating.

Flaking and smudging at the bottom
Flaking, slight smudge and a hella load of separation there

What are your thoughts on Revlon Liners?

MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack

Finally after years of seeing MAC products pop out of every youtube beauty gurus videos and also strolling past the MAC counter and crying on the inside from all the prices. I did buy a few MAC products that I recieved a few months ago, back in my PriceUSA post here if you havent read it.
I find eyeliners somewhat of a long treacherous journey to review since I have to use it for a long time and see how it lasts in heat, sweat, oil and rain.
I have been using this gel liner for about 3 months now and I can say that it is the best gel liner I've used but it is pretty average for an eyeliner.

I think the last time that I used a gel liner was back in 2011 when I was still a beginner in makeup. I still have photos back then of all the makeup mishaps and one of them was the panda eyes that I would get especially from gel liners, so I have strayed away from gel liners until this year I thought I would give it another try but with a gel liner that has the best reviews and raves.
I have tried most of the drugstore gel liners back in the days (WetnWild, Maybelline, Essence, ELF) but yes they were all horrible at staying on my super oily lids, they just did not last the heat or sweat but they did last the rain but not my watery eyes sadly.

I actually really love mac packaging, it just looks so sleek but yet somewhat simple. I absolutely love the matte design of the lid and even the matte packaging of the lipsticks and their other products (sounds silly but it makes it look like a good quality product).
The texture of the liner is sososo creamy but I find that it isnt as pigmented as I would like it to be so I usually go over the liner twice. But I love how versatile it is, I can smoke out the liner or do a nice crisp line with it.

My everyday eyeliner consists of winging the ends out either straight or winging it up. I use the Real Techniques Silicone Liner brush to do my gel liner.
Im going to try my best and keep this short by saying that this eyeliner just did not last very well during the hot days, it always transferred down under my bottom lash line giving a very obvious ring on the bottom lashline. Even with primer it still transferred down so I found that I had to not wing out my eyeliner and keep it as a simple line.
On the normal days I found that the wings faded after 5 hours of school and it also slightly transferred down and it just made my eyebags look so dark. Primer did slightly help but I still got transferal.
As for the colder weather, the eyeliner does stay put and very slightly fades without primer, and slightly transfers but with primer it lasts a long time.
Though I find that the eyeliner does not last near the ends of my eyes (where it gets water) it leaves a black liquidy streak inbetween where I have to use a cotton bud or my fingers to wipe off everytime I visit the bathroom or look into a mirror.
But I can say that the eyeliner does last around 3 hours before it starts to smudge and fade when Im out at school or with friends but I find that it lasts past the 5 hour mark if I'm not doing much for example, working or going out shopping by myself.
Gel liner does take longer to apply but it is easier to use than liquid. If I wake up late for school I dont reach for this liner since I know I will probably take around 5 minutes trying to perfect the wing.

The picture above is actually after 5 hours of wearing it out with primer underneath it (have no idea if it was after work or after shopping). It slightly faded on the ends and at the start and it also slightly transferred. I assume it was during a normal day no heat nor rain.

I have been using it most of the time I go out for 3 months and the eyeliner hasnt started drying up nor has it reached the bottom, I still have tons left that will last a year or so before it starts drying I assume.
TIP: after dipping the brush in, leave the liner upside down until you need to dip your brush in again to avoid it drying up quickly.

I would definitely recommend this liner for people who dont have problems with eyeliner smudging or oily lids since it will last a lot longer. I will keep using this liner up and probably go back to liquid when I'm done.

Real Techniques Silicone Liner Brush

Since I've been using MAC Fluidline as my goto eyeliner lately, I've been needing a change of liner brush. When I heard about the Real Techniques new silicone liner brush, I've just wanted to try it out!
I went on iHerb and bought the Real Techniques brush kits which I wont be doing a review on, since there are so many reviews on it, and lets face it.. there are all amazing brushes.

This costed $4.74 USD which is about $5-$5.50 AUD, how cheap is that?! I'm not sure if they sell this at Priceline since it is quite a new brush, but we all know the prices here are crazy compared with the UK and US.

The brush handle is like the other Real Technique eye brushes, a purple metal casing that surrounds two thirds of the brush whilst the other third is a matte black plastic on the ends, it just gives the brush a really sleek look.

The brush is just like a liquid eyeliner brush but instead of having bristles, its just silicone. The silicone is firmly stuck onto the barrel, while the tip is really flexible to apply eyeliner easily onto the lids. I also really love how the tip cant get ruined compared to bristled brushes so I can always create the perfect flick every single time.
Really the only bad thing about this brush is how the gel liner dries quickly on the silicone so I have to keep going in the liner or I either have to pack on some more liner on the brush. But that doesnt really bother me that much since the final result of my eyeliner looks amazing when I use this.
Washing this brush is so much quicker too. I use the Daiso puff and sponge detergent to wash my bristled brushes but to wash this brush, you dont have to do the typical, scrubbing onto your palm, you have to put a teeny drop of the detergent and use your finger to scrub away the liner and it just flakes off. And to dry the brush, just use a paper towel and BAM your done, no drying time whatsoever.

I really recommend this brush for people who love the cat-wing or flicked eyeliner look. You seriously need this in your brush collection!

Klean Color Tattoo Eye Liquid Eyeliner in Black

Being one of them frequent eyeliner users, I'm always on the lookout for new eyeliners to try. I was searching through eyeliners on Ebay and found the Klean Color Tattoo Liquid Liner for only $4.90 + $1.80 postage and being the cheapo that I am, of course I had to get it. Though I am skeptical about cheap makeup products so I was 80% sure that it would not be a good product but doesnt hurt to try stuff right?

big high five to the people who can guess the orange thing!

I know Kleancolour has a range of cheap makeup products like nail polish and eyeshadows which can be hard to find in Australia, but I know it's an American brand and trying out American products gets very exciting for me.
Though the packaging is pretty frustrating as it takes up a lot of space and is made with a cheap feeling plastic.

I personally love liquid liners with a brush tip rather than a felt tip cause I find them harsh to use on the lids, sadly this has a felt tip which is a downer. Also with the felt tip, it doesnt evenly apply the liner so I have to tap the product on, to get an even pigmentation. The liner also dries quickly so the liner does become patchy if I go over it.

And to answer the question of whether I love it or not?! It's 80% love and 20% meh.
The formula of the liner is so amazing. during the cooler seasons it lasts all day (no joke) I even tested it on the bottom lash line (put 3 dots pictured above) and it probably lasted around 3 hours of shopping with my mum with no smudging or flaking.
During summer it doesn't last as much on the watery ends, but with primer underneath it lasts, even on the ends.
Also it is the most waterproof eyeliner I own. How do I know? I actually take off most my makeup when I shower and this eyeliner does not budge at all unless I try to rub it off. I'd say I wouldn't go swimming with it on unless you're going for a thin natural line but if the weather turns out to be rain it would be perfect to use.

If Kleancolor changed the packaging of this eyeliner I think this would be my HG eyeliner. For the price and formula it is worth it all.

Maybelline Hyper Glossy Liquid Liner in Black

Being the eye-liner fanatic that I am, I'm always on the look out to try out new eyeliners.
I'm also still trying to find the ultimate eyeliner to with-stand my oily lids and the watery-ness at both ends of my eyes.
I've already tried quite a few liquid eyeliners and most have been disappointing when it came to withstanding my watery eyes, so when I bought the Maybelline Hyper Glossy Liner, I had a feeling it would also be the same... and sadly I was right.

Can I just stop to say how much I love the pink metallic writing against the black?!

I purchased this at Mychemist for $6.97 during it's 50% off sale.
The thing that had drawn me the most to it was it's brush. It's nothing fancy, but I like to aim for brushes that can do thin lines and thick lines. There are days where I rock the think liner and there are days where I rock the thin line so those eyeliners are preferable.

The brush
The brush really reminded me of the Rimmel Glam Eyes. But a teeny bit thicker.
Since I'm used to applying eyeliner, I cant be the judge of whether it's easy to use or not but it was easy to use. When I wiped the excess eyeliner off on the bottle, the brush turns into a flat applicator which helped apply the eyeliner in one straight line (in my experience though). It's probably the best eyeliner brush I've used so far.

L-R: Dollywink, 24 Hour K-Palette, Rimmel Glam Eyes, Lancome Artline, Maybelline Hyper Glossy
Wish Flash
As you can see in the swatches, it's very glossy and very pigmented!
I was surprised at how pigmented it was.
But when I had it on my lids, it wasn't as glossy and didn't seem as pigmented, but it was pigmented enough for me to be content with it.

Clockwise: First applied, rubbing test, after 5-6 hours, close-up of the end.
I like to extend my eyeliner around 1 cm from the end of my eyes, so I have to create another line from the ends of my eyes to the tip of my eyeliner, which is the most watery part of my eye. ( AKA the danger zone).
From the picture above, the eyeliner didn't last on the "danger zone" after 5-6 hours, it pretty much separated. I also found that after 1-2 hours with it on, it made a small trail of eyeliner coming from the ends.
But if I look on the bright side, it would be a really good eyeliner if I dont use it near the watery space.
I found that it didnt smudge when it was raining (unlike the Rimmel Glam Eyes) and it creates a really precise wing.
So I would assume that it would be a HG eyeliner  for most people, but for me it just didnt win me over.

Lancome Artliner in Noir

I think majority of us would already know about Michelle Phan being Lancome's video make-up artist.
I remember being subscribed to her for probably around 3 years and I remember her using Lancome products most of the time and seeing her use the Lancome Artliner.
I had a big obsession with all types of eyeliners back then (still do!) and I always wanted to try the Lancome Artliner.

I managed to pick up the colour 01 Noir (plain black) during the Boxing Day sales at David Jones for $45.90 as they were having a 10% off promotion.

"Gentle felt eyeliner. An intense and precise line, in a single sweep. Exceptionally long-lasting. Shake before use"

Contains only 1.4ml which is pretty small considering that majority of the liquid eyeliners I own contain around 3.5ml.
Also lasts for 6 months.

I had to show this! I couldnt get over how the inside of the box was black and how the outside was silver. In love with the box. I can't seem to get myself to throw out the box...

The thing about this is that you have to shake before use, unlike some of the eyeliners I've used shaking before use does help put more product on the felt tip.
You don't have to shake too hard for this or else you will get a heck of a lot of product!
I like to hold the eyeliner with 2 fingers and swing it back and forth instead of shaking but you can do whatever you like to shake it, I know some people like to hit the eyeliner on the back of their hands.

When you first open it up, the felt tip applicator will be white so you have to shake the eyeliner to get the product.

I was quite disappointed with the applicator since it wasn't sharp at the tip (I like to have a sharp wing for my eyeliner) but the size of it was decent, not big nor small. But the good thing about it not having a sharp tip is that you can apply your eyeliner using the very tip of the felt tip which can also come in handy for lining in-between the lashes without poking your eyes out!
Close-up

Swatches:

As for the product, it dries a matte finish and does last fairly well during the day but I did wear this out yesterday when it was blazing hot and sadly the eyeliner was all patchy and faded at the ends (including the inner corners!).
Disappointed that it didnt last on my oily lids, I did have high hopes for this one but I wouldn't repurchase this.
Though if you don't have oily lids I'm pretty sure it will last a lot longer.

Have you tried the Lancome Artliner?
