Maybelline Express Remover Pot

In my recent haul I picked up the Maybelline Express Remover pot at MyChemist during their 50% off Maybelline sale, which I believe is still on! I picked it up for $4.97.
If you know me, I am the most laziest person you will ever meet. When I paint my nails, they do not come off after until I feel like a new colour or have the verge to take it off which can be a few weeks or even months... so when I heard about nail polish remover pots I had always wanted to get my hands on one, it was just a product that was made perfectly for me!

Using the nail polish remover pot is so simple and easy. All you do is dip your finger in the sponge soaked with polish remover inside, turn your finger and take it out and obviously close the lid when you're done.
Before I owned this, I did have second thoughts, because a sponge soaked with polish remover that is supposedly the most amazing product made?! Sounds too good to be true right? But it really is amazing!
The only thing that put me off trying this out was that I thought the polish would get stuck to the sponge after each use, so a build-up of polish would cover the sponge and be unusable. But no, I am wrong, it hasn't done anything like that..yet (so i think, haha!)

The sponge is literally soaked with polish remover so I find that if you press onto the sponge, it does go over your fingers and nails. But it isnt necessary to even press onto the sponge while you are twisting your finger, you really just dip and turn and youre done. The texture of the sponge works well to grab onto the polish and remove it.

Polish: Chi Chi Polish in Social Butterfly

I was using the nail polish on my ring finger that ended up getting ruined during a night-time manicure.

Dip & Twist
I find that I have to either dip my finger in for a few seconds and twist about 2-3 times for the polish to remove or to either twist the finger until I feel like the polish is removed which may be up to 10 seconds.
The remover claims to "Remove nail polish in 1 dip" which I guess is true since you do leave your nail in the pot until you feel like the nail polish is gone, but there can be an occasion when a very small spot of polish hasn't been entirely removed so a second dip can happen.
But that doesnt really bother me since it is a lot quicker than using a cotton round/balls and a separate polish remover.

Final Result!
The nail polish remover doesnt contain any acetone which is different since I always use nail polish removes with acetones since they do the job well, but seeing as this is acetone free and does an amazing job at removing polish quickly and effectively, it's just one of those products that I will always be using. It will without a doubt replace the manual method of removing polish!
I find that this doesnt dry my nails out and leaves it like how a nail should be feeling.
I really recommend picking this up now during the 50% off Maybelline sales at MyChemist! I will 100% buy this again when I use this pot up!

Maybelline Hyper Glossy Liquid Liner in Black

Being the eye-liner fanatic that I am, I'm always on the look out to try out new eyeliners.
I'm also still trying to find the ultimate eyeliner to with-stand my oily lids and the watery-ness at both ends of my eyes.
I've already tried quite a few liquid eyeliners and most have been disappointing when it came to withstanding my watery eyes, so when I bought the Maybelline Hyper Glossy Liner, I had a feeling it would also be the same... and sadly I was right.

Can I just stop to say how much I love the pink metallic writing against the black?!

I purchased this at Mychemist for $6.97 during it's 50% off sale.
The thing that had drawn me the most to it was it's brush. It's nothing fancy, but I like to aim for brushes that can do thin lines and thick lines. There are days where I rock the think liner and there are days where I rock the thin line so those eyeliners are preferable.

The brush
The brush really reminded me of the Rimmel Glam Eyes. But a teeny bit thicker.
Since I'm used to applying eyeliner, I cant be the judge of whether it's easy to use or not but it was easy to use. When I wiped the excess eyeliner off on the bottle, the brush turns into a flat applicator which helped apply the eyeliner in one straight line (in my experience though). It's probably the best eyeliner brush I've used so far.

L-R: Dollywink, 24 Hour K-Palette, Rimmel Glam Eyes, Lancome Artline, Maybelline Hyper Glossy
Wish Flash
As you can see in the swatches, it's very glossy and very pigmented!
I was surprised at how pigmented it was.
But when I had it on my lids, it wasn't as glossy and didn't seem as pigmented, but it was pigmented enough for me to be content with it.

Clockwise: First applied, rubbing test, after 5-6 hours, close-up of the end.
I like to extend my eyeliner around 1 cm from the end of my eyes, so I have to create another line from the ends of my eyes to the tip of my eyeliner, which is the most watery part of my eye. ( AKA the danger zone).
From the picture above, the eyeliner didn't last on the "danger zone" after 5-6 hours, it pretty much separated. I also found that after 1-2 hours with it on, it made a small trail of eyeliner coming from the ends.
But if I look on the bright side, it would be a really good eyeliner if I dont use it near the watery space.
I found that it didnt smudge when it was raining (unlike the Rimmel Glam Eyes) and it creates a really precise wing.
So I would assume that it would be a HG eyeliner  for most people, but for me it just didnt win me over.

Maybelline Color Tattoo-Tough as Taupe

I'm pretty sure most people have heard about the Color Tattoos and its amazing "24hr wear" and the range of colours. I personally really wanted the taupe color seeing as though I have never owned a taupe eyeshadow and it was also non shimmer/glitter and I have a thing for matte eyeshadows!

Purchased this at Priceline while it was on sale for $9.56!
Got the one in 35 Tough as Taupe. I heard some other countries had different names and packaging to the Australian one?
Contains 14oz/4g, quite a lot of product for my use.

The bottom of the Color Tattoo has the sticker on it. I like how it's in a jar form as it is a lot easier to store in my makeup drawer. But I found that the bottom of the jar was kind of wasteful since it was just 1cm of emptiness that could've been filled with product or just removed to make the jar a lot more smaller.

In flash
Accidentally shoved my fingernail in it... :(
The colour looked like a dark taupe colour, its great as an overall lid color or a base aswell!
I use it on my lids and sometimes with some sheer black shadow on the outer corners.

When you dip your fingers in in the product actually looks more darker than what was in the jar.

As for the product it did crease a very very small bit on my lids (I have very oily lids so no surprise) after around 6ish hours, which is amazing for my lids, if you have normal lids it would definitely stay on your lids for along time, maybe 24 hours. But the creasing I didnt mind since it isn't noticeable unless I close my lids. (the skin above my crease fold over my lids so my eyelid is pretty small), but when I used this product on my lower lashline it faded and smudged.

As for the pigmentation it does look like what it looks like once you dip your fingers in it. It's also build able and dries matte!

Swatch:

I would give this product a 4.5/5, it didn't last on my lower lashline sadly.
I would definitely repurchase this though!

Haul!

Went out yesterday to go buy a lace skirt at JayJays but sadly they ran out so I went and bought some stuff to cheer myself up!

Australis Deodorant Body Spray- $3.79 @ Priceline

I was walking bad to the checkout when I passed the deodorant section, I went to see if Impulse was on sale but then I saw another deodorant which was around $2 cheaper than the Impulse deodorant, the Australia! They had a range of different smells but the Vanilla Dream caught my eye because it was yellow and smelt so nice, like vanilla. Smells so yummy!

Maybelline Color Tattoo in Tough as Taupe- $9.56 @ Priceline

Saw this on the Priceline catalogue on sale and I was so tempted to buy them all but I really wanted the taupe colour since I really never owned a taupe colour and the colour looked so natural on the lid so I finally bought it!

Rubi Lulu Beret in Lemonade & Soft Grey- $5 each @ Rubi Shoes

I have never owned a beret before so I was really excited when I saw this on the Cotton On website! They were $5 each so I went in store at Rubi Shoes and found them at the back where the saled items go, most of the grey berets were marked as $10 but I found on at the very back behind the yellow berets marked at $5. Can't wait to wear them out!

Maybelline One by One Mascara- Blackest Black

Bought the Washable Maybelline One by One Mascara awhile back when it was on sale. But I was waiting until I got my camera so I could get good pictures of the wand.
Got the one in Blackest Black
Back in the day's when I used my iphone camera...
On the back it claimed that it was:
  •  Exclusive lash catcher brush catches, coats and de-clumps every single lash for our most refined volume from root-to-tip.
  • Instant clump-free volume.
  • Ophthalmologist tested
  • Contact lens safe
This is actually the second mascara that I have ever used so I can only compare it with my first (Maybelline The Falsies).

Price: $10

Like I said, it was on sale at Priceline for $10. I had to choose between all the Maybelline mascaras but I chose the Maybelline One by One because I heard some really good reviews on it on Youtube so I decided to try it and see how it goes. I also bought the washable one because the waterproof mascaras are a pain to take off.

Packaging: 4/5

Just like most of the other Maybelline mascaras, they have the same tube shape which I find pretty cool considering that it makes me want to collect them all!
When you open the tube you get this massive wand and sadly leftover mascara product at the end that I end up scraping off (is there any mascara that doesnt do this?).
Anyways the wand is actually bendy which I like and has rubber bristles! (also a bonus for me)

Close up of the bristles.

Product: 5/5

The mascara really does lengthen & volumise your lashes if you give it a few coats. I only do 1 coat of mascara because I like the way it defines my lashes without it looking un-natural. The thing about this mascara is it makes it look like you're wearing false lashes! So I put on the mascara and left it until my mum came back home and she thought I was wearing false lashes, pretty amazing right?
But what I really like about this mascara is that it lasts the whole day without smudging and its not waterproof and I have super oily eyelids... I love this mascara. But this does flake a lot, I found so much flakes underneath my eye at the end of the day, but as long as it doesnt smudge Im happy so I didn't really mind the flaking.
This is also really easy to remove, just removing it with water or makeup remover, I remove it with warm water.

Conclusion:

This is my favourite mascara currently!

Rainbow Eye Makeup

You can't really see the green nor purple :(

Products Used:

-DB 48 Colour Eyeshadow Pallette
-Essence Kajal Pencil in 17 Neon Sweetie
-Sportgirl To The Point Liquid Eyeliner
-DB Black Kohl Pencil
-Maybelline The Falsies Mascara

So I was playing with my essence yellow eyeliner since I never actually used it so I really wanted to see what it would just look like with just black eyeliner but I ended up putting yellow eyeshadow over it  and using the eyeliner itself as a base, but I then somehow continued building up the colours by putting a coral red in my crease and outer V and then putting orange in the inner eyelid area.
I then put green eyeshadow on the inner lashline and blue on the outer part.
The inner corners were missing something so I put a purple which ended up not looking so well...
But I lined the top lid thinly with my Sportgirl eyeliner and lined the bottom with my DB black eyeliner pencil and then curled and added mascara.

Im actually really happy with the results since I do have asian eyes so it is quite hard for me to do eyeshadow looks and this is the first time it turned out well (:

&& No I will not do a tutorial since this look wasnt planned and I did do random stuff to it and added random colours in.
