Maybelline Express Remover Pot

In my recent haul I picked up the Maybelline Express Remover pot at MyChemist during their 50% off Maybelline sale, which I believe is still on! I picked it up for $4.97.
If you know me, I am the most laziest person you will ever meet. When I paint my nails, they do not come off after until I feel like a new colour or have the verge to take it off which can be a few weeks or even months... so when I heard about nail polish remover pots I had always wanted to get my hands on one, it was just a product that was made perfectly for me!

Using the nail polish remover pot is so simple and easy. All you do is dip your finger in the sponge soaked with polish remover inside, turn your finger and take it out and obviously close the lid when you're done.
Before I owned this, I did have second thoughts, because a sponge soaked with polish remover that is supposedly the most amazing product made?! Sounds too good to be true right? But it really is amazing!
The only thing that put me off trying this out was that I thought the polish would get stuck to the sponge after each use, so a build-up of polish would cover the sponge and be unusable. But no, I am wrong, it hasn't done anything like that..yet (so i think, haha!)

The sponge is literally soaked with polish remover so I find that if you press onto the sponge, it does go over your fingers and nails. But it isnt necessary to even press onto the sponge while you are twisting your finger, you really just dip and turn and youre done. The texture of the sponge works well to grab onto the polish and remove it.

Polish: Chi Chi Polish in Social Butterfly

I was using the nail polish on my ring finger that ended up getting ruined during a night-time manicure.

Dip & Twist
I find that I have to either dip my finger in for a few seconds and twist about 2-3 times for the polish to remove or to either twist the finger until I feel like the polish is removed which may be up to 10 seconds.
The remover claims to "Remove nail polish in 1 dip" which I guess is true since you do leave your nail in the pot until you feel like the nail polish is gone, but there can be an occasion when a very small spot of polish hasn't been entirely removed so a second dip can happen.
But that doesnt really bother me since it is a lot quicker than using a cotton round/balls and a separate polish remover.

Final Result!
The nail polish remover doesnt contain any acetone which is different since I always use nail polish removes with acetones since they do the job well, but seeing as this is acetone free and does an amazing job at removing polish quickly and effectively, it's just one of those products that I will always be using. It will without a doubt replace the manual method of removing polish!
I find that this doesnt dry my nails out and leaves it like how a nail should be feeling.
I really recommend picking this up now during the 50% off Maybelline sales at MyChemist! I will 100% buy this again when I use this pot up!

Adventure Time- LSP Nail Art

The purple isnt that bright in person!

Being a massive fan of Adventure Time, I decided to paint my nails to an Adventure Time character, I chose to do LSP (Lumpy Space Princess) which is my favourite character in the show!

I was going to do a new character every week or so but sadly I had to cut my nails short. I'm currently in the process of cutting and regrowing my nails until it has no layers breaking off (my nails are incredibly weak :( ), so I won't be posting anymore nail posts until they're to its normal length.

Products used:
  • Ulta3 Nail Polish in Base Coat [Not shown]
  • Savvy by DB Nail Polish in Grapetini
  • Savvy by DB Nail Polish in Pina Colada
  • Ulta3 Nail Polish in Midnight
  • Ulta3 Nail Polish in Clear [Not shown]
  • Dotting tool

What nail art should I do next once my nails have grown?

Pink Gradient Glitter Tips

A while back I painted my nail tips a gradient glitter. After seeing so many people doing this, they looked so pretty so I decided to try it out myself.

Nail polishes I used
Just going to say that I still have a lot of nail polish posts to post out so they may be months/weeks old. I usually only post them once every few weeks.

Jack Skellington Nail Art!

Although I am late in posting this during Halloween, there is no rule that states that you're not allowed to paint your nails in a Jack Skellington way only for Halloween! (although i did paint this before Halloween...)

Right hand...completely failed
So I actually used a dotting tool and a toothpick to do the white stripes and Jacks face.
My nails started to chip on the 2nd-3rd day but luckily I still have one of jacks face on my nail while the rest were removed with nail polish remover :D

What nail art should I do next?

Diva Nail Polish in "Cheeky"

Cut my nails short due to my upcoming Job Interview and I thought why not paint my nails, incase this would be the last time wearing nail polish for a long run. (taking it off tomorrow though.)
I got this nail polish along with a red one from the CokeUnleashed website, you can get it if you have 45 points. Link here

I applied a base coat and a top coat. The colour came off very pigmented only took 2 coats (takes one coat if you apply it thickly). Sadly it chipped on the next day.
The colour came out as a bright peachy pink, not my type of everyday nail polish colour except it would come in handy for some future nail art!

NYC Color in Lemon

Haven't used this polish for months now since I felt as if wearing yellow didn't suit my "style" but I only recently got into pastel nail polishes.
Though this starting chipping a bit during the second day, I love the pastel yellow!
I haven't seen stores selling NYC polishes for a while so Im hoping they still sell them since I'm loving this colour!

NYC Color in Peachy Keen

For those who don't know, I got this from Super Purdy's Giveaway!
I've been wanting to try this colour for awhile when I got it, so I got around to doing it.

The colour is more on the pastel orange side than a peach colour.
I love wearing pastel colours during spring since it just looks happy to wear :D

Nails of the Week!

This weeks nails I finally stopped my procrastinating ways and did Totoro Nails!

Totoro has probably been my all time favourite movie! I remember watching this film when I was little and watching most of the studio ghibli films. It's a great childhood film! I probably have an obsession with Totoro now.

Left-Right: Clear, Midnight, Lily White, Earl Grey and base coat.

Nails of the Week!

It's more of a deep peach colour.

Bought this at MyChemist because it was on sale and I was looking for a peachy/coraly colour!

The colour isnt exactly 100% the same as the picture, on my nails it looks like a bright pink/orange kind of like a neon. Maybe because it crashes with my olive skin. But 3 coats of it is enough to make it opaque.

Nails of The Week !

Recently bought a Rimmel Xmas Pack 2011 which was marked down to $9, it contained a few makeup products which I'll be posting later on this week or next week!
So one of the products was the Rimmel London Lasting Finish Nail Polish in 066 Cranberry Zest.
It claims to have a fruit scent when dry. The smell reminds me of a medicine smell. Kind of like the cherry flavoured starbursts.
It's a hot pink colour and is very opaque in just 2-3 coats I only put 2 coats since I don't like the thick feeling. But you can still see my nail whites through it.
Anyways I didn't really want to make a review about this so I'm off!

Nails of The Week!

Too lazy to watermark my pictures :/
My friend requested me to do her nails in a leopard print last week so I decided to go practise on myself before doing her nails! Here are the final results (:

So I just painted my nails with a base coat beforehand then painted the base white.

Used my dotting tools to dot random shapes/blobs kind of like a giraffe print or cow print (:

Then used the smaller side of my dotting tool to draw C's  on the outline of the shapes :D pretty simple!

I will be uploading more reviews soon, I just dont have the time atm since exams are coming up so I have more work aswell to practise :C
