Maybelline Hyper Glossy Liquid Liner in Black

Being the eye-liner fanatic that I am, I'm always on the look out to try out new eyeliners.
I'm also still trying to find the ultimate eyeliner to with-stand my oily lids and the watery-ness at both ends of my eyes.
I've already tried quite a few liquid eyeliners and most have been disappointing when it came to withstanding my watery eyes, so when I bought the Maybelline Hyper Glossy Liner, I had a feeling it would also be the same... and sadly I was right.

Can I just stop to say how much I love the pink metallic writing against the black?!

I purchased this at Mychemist for $6.97 during it's 50% off sale.
The thing that had drawn me the most to it was it's brush. It's nothing fancy, but I like to aim for brushes that can do thin lines and thick lines. There are days where I rock the think liner and there are days where I rock the thin line so those eyeliners are preferable.

The brush
The brush really reminded me of the Rimmel Glam Eyes. But a teeny bit thicker.
Since I'm used to applying eyeliner, I cant be the judge of whether it's easy to use or not but it was easy to use. When I wiped the excess eyeliner off on the bottle, the brush turns into a flat applicator which helped apply the eyeliner in one straight line (in my experience though). It's probably the best eyeliner brush I've used so far.

Wish Flash
As you can see in the swatches, it's very glossy and very pigmented!
I was surprised at how pigmented it was.
But when I had it on my lids, it wasn't as glossy and didn't seem as pigmented, but it was pigmented enough for me to be content with it.

Clockwise: First applied, rubbing test, after 5-6 hours, close-up of the end.
I like to extend my eyeliner around 1 cm from the end of my eyes, so I have to create another line from the ends of my eyes to the tip of my eyeliner, which is the most watery part of my eye. ( AKA the danger zone).
From the picture above, the eyeliner didn't last on the "danger zone" after 5-6 hours, it pretty much separated. I also found that after 1-2 hours with it on, it made a small trail of eyeliner coming from the ends.
But if I look on the bright side, it would be a really good eyeliner if I dont use it near the watery space.
I found that it didnt smudge when it was raining (unlike the Rimmel Glam Eyes) and it creates a really precise wing.
So I would assume that it would be a HG eyeliner  for most people, but for me it just didnt win me over.

Nivea Pure & Natural Milk & Honey and Chamomile & Calendula

Having dry lips frequently, I will always be using a lip balm day and night. And being a lipbalm junkie, I'm always happy to try different lipbalms but for now  I'm only just starting on Nivea before I test out different brands.
I actually used a Priceline voucher on these lipbalms as well as 5 other lipbalms but they were already on sale for $3.34 each, bargain!

Chamomile & Calendula  Ingredients
Milk & Honey Ingredients
On the back it states that:

Chamomile & Calendula:
-soothes sensitive lips with extra mild care
-100% free of preservatives
-With natural ingredients - certified organic shea butter and natural jojoba oil

Milk & Honey:
-Pampers your lips with extra rich care
-100% free of preservatives
-With natural ingredients - certified organic shea butter and natural jojoba oil

I picked the two lipbalms in the pure & natural range 'Chamomile & Calendula' and 'Milk & Honey'

I did some research on their website and their main ingredient is very natural so perfect for those looking for the natural lipbalm option.

Chamomile & Calendula
  • Camomile – a wound-healing ingredient that leaves chapped lips wonderfully soft
  • Calendula – traditionally used to soothe and alleviate inflammation.
Milk & Honey
  • Milk – rich in all important amino acids, vitamins and minerals
  • Honey – contains a high amount of antioxidants and has effective healing properties.

The scent of these lipbalms dont linger on the lips but smell quite noticeable in the tube. Honestly the Chamomile & Calendula scent isn't my favourite it smells like one of those floral fragrant pillows they sell during mothers day, I rather prefer the Milk & Honey because it smells a lot like honey.

Compared to my all time favourite lipbalm, the Nivea Essential Care. This lipbalm is a lot thinner and requires going back forth tons of times until you get a thicker moisturising consistency like the Essential Care. But unlike the Essential Care the lipbalm doesn't reach to my standards in its moisturising compartment.
It feels as if I'm just applying a layer of lipbalm that does nothing.

With an equal amount of money you could just buy the Essential Care lipbalm which actually does something.
Sad to say that this was a disappointment for me and I wouldn't repurchase this again.
I would recommend just saving your money on a different lipbalm.

B•liv by Cellnique

*Caution: People who cannot stand looking at blackheads may not want to read this* but I'll be leaving the picture at the very end of this post so it can be easily avoided~
L-R: Off With Those Heads || Spots Got Shot
Last month I received these two products from the lovely B•liv. Now when I was contacted by them I got pretty excited cause I did hear about them from one of Bubzbeautys videos. (*fangirling on the inside*)
Anyways I was sent the Off with those heads Blackhead Sebum Gel and the Spots got Shot blemish treatment serum to treat my blackhead and pimple problems.

Can we just stop and think about the names of the products?! It's probably the most creative names I've seen!

So Bliv caters to many skin types from blackheads, large pores, acne, blemishes, dry skin, sensitive skin and oily skin. So anyone could find what they're looking for.
They also offer free shipping worldwide and a free sample with every product!

Off With Those Heads Blackhead Sebum Gel

Off with those heads || $49.00 || Link
It says on their website that this product is their number 1 best seller and it also had so many raves and reviews, so I did have pretty high expectations towards this.
What I really like about this is the packaging, it comes in a bottle with clear-ish packaging so I can easily see how much of the product is left and it's also in pump form, so very hygienic!
When I was reading the box it came in, the ingredients actually contained some things I knew which was a relief. Witch Hazel, Tea Tree and Peppermint, if you didn't know, all three ingredients do help get rid of pimples.

  • It is normal for more oil to be secreted during initial period
  • Those with sensitive skin may experience mild stinging sensation

When I applied this, it had a cooling sensation from it, which felt really nice and refreshing, it also smells quite nice too! I apply this mainly to my nose which is basically a city of blackheads. Then it sets in after a few minutes. I did this 2 times a day, and the results weren't instant but I did notice a difference after a week, the blackheads towards the tip of my nose started to go away! But they do start to come back once you stop using it which was a let down.
I've also let my brother try this out with me and I still have a lot of the product left, so it does last a long time.
For $49 it is pretty depressing towards my wallet, but I would consider repurchasing this when I run out... which I don't think will happen anytime soon.

Spots Got Shot Blemish Treatment Serum

Spots Got Shot || $25.00 || Link
As for this, it's actually their 4th best seller!
Since I do suffer from blackheads, it's obvious that I get breakouts once in a while, but I will always get mini breakouts everywhere on my nose so I treat my pimples everyday with Tea Tree Oil.
Now being a daily user of Tea Tree Oil, my nose isn't used to the salicylic acid that it contains and probably the other ingredients. So this product actually made my pimples worse. I had 2 small pimples on my forehead   that had been there for a few days, so I thought I would test this product on it but little did I know that the next day, the pimples were bigger than usual, it looked like it would pop at any second, sadly nothing could save it and yes it did pop when I was using my cleanser... gross I know.

The product was like a cream that didn't have a pleasant smell, but it was bearable.
Aside from the horrible incident I'm going to retry this product in the holidays to get my skin used to it and hopefully see whether it works or not.

Overall I give these products altogether an 8/10!

Bliv have also gave an 30% discount code
*Doesn't apply to all the kits and gift vouchers

Old vs New? Rimmel London Quad Eye Shadows - 001 Smokey Noir

So awhile back, I was going through my make-up and realised that two of my quads looked exactly the same in terms of colours. And to my surprise they were the same besides the fact that one is called Glam'eyes and the other is called Colour Rush.

If you can't tell, the left is the new formula and packaging (Glam'eyes) the the right is the old version.(Colour Rush).
I bought the Colour Rush back in 2010 when I first started experimenting with make-up (it's actually the first eyeshadow I own), they were selling it in one of those super cheap make-up sales usually nearby Mychemist, I got it for $3.
As for the Glam'eyes I bought it as part of the Rimmel Xmas Pack.

Colour Rush (CR)
The packaging for this isnt that fancy, it's quite cheap and just feels like the lid will break off very soon.
For the colours, clockwise starting at black, I'll just be labelling it as 4, 1, 2, 3 (matching it to the Glam'eyes colours)

Glam'eyes (GE) || clockwise: 4, 2, 3, 1
The packaging to this is much more appealing towards me cause if you didn't know, I have an obsession with  quilted patterns. And the quilted design in the shadows had gotten to me!

Swatches L-R : CR 4, GE 4, CR 2, GE 2, CR 3, GE 3, CR 1, GE 1

As you can see, the Glam'eyes pigmentation was a lot better compared to the Colour Rush, although for all the swatches I probably went over it more than 5 times.
The only matte colours was the black (4) but they did turn out very chalky. On the eyes the black is very sheer and appears to be a dark grey unless you build it up, the dark grey (2) turns out as a light grey on my lids, the silver colour (3) turned out as a very light colour which isn't as noticeable unless on the inner corners  and as for the last colour (1) it didnt even show up as anything except as glitter on the eyes.

Using the GE Quad || 4 on the outer corner, 2 in the center of the lids, 3 on the inner corner  and inner lids, 1 over the top of 3.
I'm pretty disappointed with both the quads, I mean the only usable colour is the black which isnt even black?! But the only good thing is that they upgraded the Colour Rush into a slightly better formula.
So I guess Glam'eyes wins this battle!

Do you prefer old over new or new over old?

Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in 005 Silky Beige

Having an oily-combination skin type, it has always been a must to use powder after foundations, bb creams or tinted moisturisers just so it can last longer.
After hearing this product explode through the beauty community it had been in my key interest to try it out.

I bought this at Priceline during one of their 20% off Rimmel sales a few months back for $10.36. (they have the same sale on now aswell!)

The back
It comes in 4 shades, Silky Beige, Transparent, Peach Glow and Cashmere.
I got the shade in 005 Silky Beige, though the shades don't really matter to me since I can't really notice a difference with it on.

Firstly about the packaging, it has a clear lid that you have to twist on and off. I find that when I try to twist it back on it doesn't have a secure stop to it so it will continue twisting even if you use a light hand, I came to the point where I didn't have to twist it any more, I just pulled the lid off.
Also the packaging looked and felt really cheap and flimsy.

As for the product, I did notice that it had very small glitter particles but it wasn't noticeable once I applied it on.
The texture was really smooth, wasn't powdery nor chalky and blended like a dream on the skin.
I use my EcoTools Powder Brush to apply on my T-zone.
Sadly I found that it hung onto the dry areas of my face (around my nose, forehead and some patches on my cheek), which was a let-down but it did mattify my face for a good 3-4 hours!
But during the more hotter days and the times where I had sport during school it didn't last as long as the cooler days. Probably around 2 hours.
Although I can't judge whether it's a good powder or not since it is the second powder I've used. I can easily tell it will be a powder that I'll be using for in the future. I don't like to reapply my make-up through out the day so lasting 3-4 hours is good enough for me!

Adventure Time- LSP Nail Art

The purple isnt that bright in person!

Being a massive fan of Adventure Time, I decided to paint my nails to an Adventure Time character, I chose to do LSP (Lumpy Space Princess) which is my favourite character in the show!

I was going to do a new character every week or so but sadly I had to cut my nails short. I'm currently in the process of cutting and regrowing my nails until it has no layers breaking off (my nails are incredibly weak :( ), so I won't be posting anymore nail posts until they're to its normal length.

Products used:
  • Ulta3 Nail Polish in Base Coat [Not shown]
  • Savvy by DB Nail Polish in Grapetini
  • Savvy by DB Nail Polish in Pina Colada
  • Ulta3 Nail Polish in Midnight
  • Ulta3 Nail Polish in Clear [Not shown]
  • Dotting tool

What nail art should I do next once my nails have grown?
