Rimmel London The Max Bold Curves Mascara - Black

Got this mascara in a part of the Rimmel Xmas 2011 Pack (post here).
Rimmel Mascaras honestly never caught my eye (besides the bright colours), I was always interested in the Maybelline mascaras so I was happy to get it in the gift pack.
I needed to try out some new mascaras, which is pretty hard for me to find the perfect mascara. I like to look for non clumpy, flake free, holds a curl, lasts all day and easy to take off mascaras. (I have high expectations in my mascaras).

Back of the tube
Got the colour in 001 Black

Claims to give 'Big, bold lashes in a flash, Exponential Volume and Lift Mascara.

The wand

The wand really shocked me when I pulled it out of the tube, it was pretty big. The curved shape was supposed to 'curl' and lift your lashes, which never works in my books since I have stick straight lashes, but the curved shape was big enough to cup majority of my lashes in one sweep.
The formula was quite drying and clumpy on the bristles which you would have to wipe off the excess.
I am no mascara expert but the brush itself seemed like one of those cliché curling/volumising brush.

Bare lashes, curled lashes, one coat of mascara...droop
Sad to say I didn't test the lasting power since I gave this mascara away to my friend due to the fact that it didn't hold a curl. After a few minutes it started to droop. Though I did like how it made my lashes look, it wasn't that clump, lengthened a tiny bit and volumised a tiny bit, looked very natural and it didn't flake!
I would'nt repurchase this but for those who would like to try this mascara out you can get this at Priceline for $15.50 or any store that stocks up on Rimmel products! :)

Rimmel Soft Kohl Eyeliner Pencil - Jet Black

After hearing so many raves on this and seeing so many beauty gurus using this on their waterline, I was always wanting to buy this, since I am still looking for my HG black pencil eyeliner for the waterline.

I actually got this eyeliner from the Rimmel Xmas 2011 Pack which should be discontinued by now but you can also get this eyeliner at places that sell Rimmel stuff, which will cost around $8 unless it's on sale.

Got the colour in 061 Jet Black, luckily it was the one I wanted!

The tip will be much sharper when you first get it, I just used it.
On the Rimmel website it claimed that the eyeliner was:
Soft, smudgeable colour with an improved staying power.
Soft: Yes
Smudgable: Yes
Staying Power: No
I'll explain the staying power later on.

Comparison of Milani and Rimmel
As you can see, Milani is still the most pigmented black eyeliner I own but if you keep building up the colour for the Rimmel eyeliner it does become a deep black.

The staying power after 3 hours.
Okay I did cheat a bit, I put on the eyeliner at home and left it on to see how long it would last for and it only lasted for 3 hours before the eyeliner started to melt in the inner parts due to my watery eyes.
I also did use the eyeliner on the top lashline (not in the picture) to use at school since I had no liquid eyeliner to use and it gave me panda eyes at the end of the day sadly. (I have extremely oily eyelids so there's no surprise there)

I wouldn't repurchase this but it might work for the less oily eyelidders!
and I am still in the faze of trying out all black pencil eyeliners out there so more eyeliner reviews to come!

Rimmel London Glam'Eyes Professional Liquid Liner - Black Glamour

Popped into Priceline during the weekend just to go buy some new makeup products!
I saw in the Rimmel London area, some products were on sale and lucky for me that I needed a new liquid eyeliner to try out after my Dollywink Liquid Liner sadly ran out. I had to choose between 2 liquid eyeliners, one was just $2-$3 extra and was actually smaller so I just bought this one.

Bought the one in Black Glamour. Just the usual black liquid eyeliner.

Price: $9.56

Most liquid eyeliners were actually around the $10 price range so I just made up my mind to buy and try!
It contained 3.5ml which isnt too bad. I think the Dollywink has more product though. So the Dollywink would be more worth it!

Packaging: 4/5

When I bought this and went home I didnt realise that it was already opened by someone else. The part where the lid and where the product is stored would usually be taped together but mine was broken so that people could open it. I was too lazy to refund it so I just left it. So if anyone is going to buy this make sure it is securely taped before buying! Now onto the applicator..
The brush tip is actually pretty thin but can also make thick lines. What I like about this is that it is a brush applicator and it is really easy to use (in my opinion). If you didnt know, my eyes are actually uneven, one has 2 creases on my eyelid so I have to make my eyeliner thicker than the other and this eyeliner is easy to do so. I can easily make a thin line on one eye and a  thicker line on the other.

Pros:

-Dries matte
-Lasts a long time without smudging, fading or flaking if untouched throughout the day!
-Really easy to remove

Cons:

-Takes a while to dry if you put too much product
-It's not waterproof, I repeat! It will smudge if water gets onto it.
-Can be hard to use the applicator if you arnt used to it

Lasts a long time even after my eyelid starts to get oily, it's amazing!
I really do recommend this to anyone who's looking for a liquid liner for an everyday use! I replaced this with my Dollywink and I'm in love with it at the moment, though Dollywink is still my all time favourite liquid liner!

Maybelline One by One Mascara- Blackest Black

Bought the Washable Maybelline One by One Mascara awhile back when it was on sale. But I was waiting until I got my camera so I could get good pictures of the wand.
Got the one in Blackest Black
Back in the day's when I used my iphone camera...
On the back it claimed that it was:
  •  Exclusive lash catcher brush catches, coats and de-clumps every single lash for our most refined volume from root-to-tip.
  • Instant clump-free volume.
  • Ophthalmologist tested
  • Contact lens safe
This is actually the second mascara that I have ever used so I can only compare it with my first (Maybelline The Falsies).

Price: $10

Like I said, it was on sale at Priceline for $10. I had to choose between all the Maybelline mascaras but I chose the Maybelline One by One because I heard some really good reviews on it on Youtube so I decided to try it and see how it goes. I also bought the washable one because the waterproof mascaras are a pain to take off.

Packaging: 4/5

Just like most of the other Maybelline mascaras, they have the same tube shape which I find pretty cool considering that it makes me want to collect them all!
When you open the tube you get this massive wand and sadly leftover mascara product at the end that I end up scraping off (is there any mascara that doesnt do this?).
Anyways the wand is actually bendy which I like and has rubber bristles! (also a bonus for me)

Close up of the bristles.

Product: 5/5

The mascara really does lengthen & volumise your lashes if you give it a few coats. I only do 1 coat of mascara because I like the way it defines my lashes without it looking un-natural. The thing about this mascara is it makes it look like you're wearing false lashes! So I put on the mascara and left it until my mum came back home and she thought I was wearing false lashes, pretty amazing right?
But what I really like about this mascara is that it lasts the whole day without smudging and its not waterproof and I have super oily eyelids... I love this mascara. But this does flake a lot, I found so much flakes underneath my eye at the end of the day, but as long as it doesnt smudge Im happy so I didn't really mind the flaking.
This is also really easy to remove, just removing it with water or makeup remover, I remove it with warm water.

Conclusion:

This is my favourite mascara currently!

Dollywink Pencil Eyeliner - Black

My dad came back from Hong Kong/Macau just yesterday and bought me some makeup that I requested which I'll prob be doing more reviews on, so watch out for an EOS Lip Balm review and Skin 79 Super BB Triple Function!
Anyways this review will be about the Dollywink Pencil Eyeliner in Black, honestly I asked my dad to get the Liquid Eyeliner incase I ran out of present one but I did want to try the pencil one out so Im still happy (:

Top: Liquid Eyeliner  Bottom: Pencil Eyeliner
Front & Back view

Price: HK$79 around AUS$9-$10

The price really didn't matter to me since my dad bought it haha, but if I used my own money to buy it I would definitely consider getting it! [[You will see why later on]]

Packaging: 4/5 Stars

Honestly, the packaging is the cutest I have ever seen, it just makes me want all the eyeliners to be packaged like it! The only downside to it is taking the lid on/off, i mean its easy to take off but when you put it back on I didnt even know if it was closed or not. This is my opinion so some other people may disagree, but silly Angel didn't fully put the lid on tightly so it fell off. All you have to do is push it in till it cant be pushed but I have an ocd if I push too hard on a lid to an eyeliner pencil that it might squish the product...yeah im odd.

Conducted some tests to see its power!

Product: 3.5/5 Stars

So the pencil pretty much glided in the skin very smoothly, it was quite pigmented, but not as pigmented as the Milani Liquf'eye (most pigmented eyeliner I have). So I did a few tests to see how it compared with Milani.
Smudge Test: I rubbed pretty hard with my finger and the Milani one smudged more than Dollywink but the Dollywink did smudge only a very small bit.
Water + Smudge: I ran my hand over with warm water, nothing happened so then I started rubbing and guess what? The Milani one started to go off, I was actually really surprised with the results. Dollywink has amazing staying power during the tests!
Used it on my waterline :)
Okay so onto the lasting power on the waterline!
[[I did cheat and reapplied on the "3pm" picture]] But I went out with the Dollywink from 3-6, walking around and eating and it did start melting off the waterline, but Im just happy it didnt run down and create panda eyes like most of the pencil eyeliners I use!

Conclusion:
I really do like this pencil most than the Milani since the Water+Smudging test amazed me a lot. But they are very similar once on the waterline. But I would personally get the Dollywink since it lasts longer than Milani. Milani is much more creamier which wastes more product, in my opinion, but the Dollywink is creamy but isnt so creamy that the product goes low fast. But if you prefer a darker and creamier pencil eyeliner I would recommend Milani, but since I don't like harsh lines I prefer Dollywink. I would definately buy it again.

Essence Eyeshadow- Dream Team

So I found this pretty baby at Target and I really wanted to try out the Essence eyeshadows since there was quite a lot of good reviews about it. I'm also on the hunt of trying out new cheap eyeshadows.

Price: $2

This is probably the reason why I bought it, the price was discounted to $2 in a bowl full of the rejected makeup. For $2 the eyeshadows would equal to $1 per colour which isnt that bad considering that you get quite a lot of product.

Packaging: 3/5

-To be honest, I thought the packaging was quite cool because of the logo on the side.
-It was also a good idea that the lid was a slide out instead of popping it up.
-Very sturdy, but opens easily as well

The eyeshadow is on my lashline and inner corner.

Product: 4/5

Pros:

• It actually lasts on my lashline really well it stayed for around 5 hours and only smudged a small bit.
• It is buildable
• Compact
• Decent pigmentation

Cons:

• Doesn't come with an applicator
• Takes awhile to get the desired amount of colour on since it's buildable.

Swatches:

Without flash

With flash

Conclusion:

Overall I really love this product on my lashline and inner corners, it really does stay on better then my pencil eyeliners and gel liners, I would definately buy it again. It was worth the buy!
